Appointments
Telephone (01382) 226673 between 8am - 6pm, Monday to Friday
All consultations are by appointment only.
Our receptionists are trained to help you as efficiently as possible; their task is often complicated by doctors and nurses having variable timetables. Please be patient and help them to help you by giving them sufficient information to process your request and allocate the appropriate resources to meet your needs.
Our practice endeavours to provide patient access to an appropriate Health Care Professional
within 2 working days. To enable the practice to meet patient demand we are currently reviewing
our appointment templates to ensure that clinical appointments either face to face in the surgery
or telephone consultations are being utilised to maximise patient benefit. Patients can book a doctors appointment up to 30 days in advance, if clinically appropriate.
In order to accommodate the demands made for appointments patients are therefore requested to contact the surgery on the appointments telephone number (01382) 226673 as early as possible on the day they wish an appointment.
All our nurse appointments are pre bookable up to two months in advance.
We will endeavour whenever possible to allocate the appointment with the doctor of your choice however this may not always be possible due to patient demands, holidays, etc.
We have three different types of appointment available.
Download a PDF copy of our appointment booking guide for specific conditions. Click here for the list by conditions.
- Routine - these appointments are for non-urgent and regular reviews, eg blood pressure monitoring and contraception advice.
- Same day - these appointments are only bookable on that day. Each partner has between four and seven of these available every day. They are for conditions that are not necessarily urgent but require to be seen on that day.
- Emergency - these appointments are for very urgent and emergency situations that require to be seen quickly. Please note abuse of these appointments can have serious implications for those who really need them.
Emergencies will always be fitted in as required, though you may be asked to see a nurse in the first instance.
If you are troubled by something and are not sure whether to bother the doctor, see the Nurse Practitioner or one of our Practice Nurses, they may be able to help. Telephone the appointments desk for an appointment on 226673.
