We have a team of highly trained practice nurses and Health Care Assistants, who can give help and advice on a variety of problems. All our nurses are trained to run clinics for specific treatments. You can make an appointment to see the nurse or Health Care Assistant without seeing your doctor first for the following services:

Blood Pressure Checks
Family Planning
New Patient Checks
Health Advice
Vaccinations. eg: Children, tetanus, etc
Travel Immunisations

On referral by your doctor the practice nurse will: -

Syringe Ears
Take Blood Samples
Give Injections
Test Urine, eg. diabetes

Monitor diabetic, asthmatic and hypersensitive patients together with providing clinics for patients with chronic bronchitis and heart disease.

PRACTICE PHARMACIST
Amy Morrison MRPharmS
Works closely with the doctors to address areas of prescribing concerns and developments. Patients may be invited to attend an appointment to discuss their medication in more detail.

Our district nurses are available for house bound patients who require help and advice with acute and chronic illness, terminal care, dressings, removal of sutures, injections and advice on incontinence.

Are available to advise on all aspects of health care matters but with emphasis on mothers during and after pregnancy, young children and the elderly.

COMMUNITY MIDWIVES
Help the doctors provide care during and after pregnancy. Home deliveries can be arranged where appropriate.

COMMUNITY PSYCHIATRIC NURSES
Visit the mentally ill regularly at home. They also give advice and help to relatives or elderly confused patients. Clinics are also held in the practice.
